Spanish developer Tequila Works has announced an agreement with Microsoft that will bring Deadlight, described as a cinematic puzzle platformer, exclusively to Xbox LIVE Arcade this year. Tequila Works was founded in 2009 and boasts a team with development credits on titles such as the Motorstorm series, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Diablo III, and Heavy Rain among others.
Deadlight takes place in another of those apocalyptic scenarios you may be familiar with, following a man across the American west coast in a “world where there is no reason to exist…”
Sounds properly bleak doesn’t it?
As for the bit of imagery accompanying the announcement, I’ll leave it to you to offer up some thoughts after you check them out below.

Nintendo has announced that their overseas partnership with Tecmo Koei on a Fatal Frame spinoff for the 3DS, Spirit Camera, will be coming to North America this year as Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir – on Friday the 13th this April no less. As many of you are likely already aware, Spirit Camera uses the 3DS’ camera and augmented-reality trickery to scare your pants off.
The Big N wasted no time in adding that the 16-page augmented reality notebook that accompanies the Japanese release will also be included with this North American release. Called “diary of faces,” viewing the book through the 3DS camera lenses brings pages to life, revealing past events and unleashing evil spirits that attack.
For anyone finding it hard to believe that Nintendo is bringing a Fatal Frame experience overseas, and I wouldn’t blame you, the publisher even has a page for it already, right here.
Alternatively, you can catch-up with some previously available video from overseas below.

Another Monday is upon us, pulling us further along into a brand new year. As exciting as that is for me, it’s still not any easier to shake off sleep on a Monday, particularly when we’re still digging the Sugar Fortress out from snow.
Thankfully, the Internet has delivered seven minutes of gameplay footage from Onechanbara Z, the latest entry in D3 Publisher’s kind of terrible – but completely guilty pleasure fix – zombie hacking action series. Onechanbara’s last visit to North America on the Wii and 360 in 2009 was actually one of first reviews I wrote, a recollection that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy despite the temperature here.
Start your Monday off right by catching a peek below.

Konami confirmed today what retail listings had already suggested, namely that the Silent Hill HD Collection has been delayed. The collection, which brings back fan favorites Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 will now release on March 6th, during a period that merits being labeled “Silent Hill Month” given that the latest entry in the series, Silent Hill: Downpour will follow on March 13th, and the Vita exclusive Book of Memories hits shelves on March 27th.
Perhaps true to confusing form, Konami’s PR still prefers to list the Silent Hill HD Collection for release in North America on the PlayStation 3, sans any mention of the Xbox 360 version that every retailer lists. Just for kicks I’ve asked Konami for some clarity, and while I wait for an answer you can soak up some screenshots from the HD collection below.

Capcom has more to say on the subject of multiplayer zombie slaying, specifically on the modes by which such pursuits play out. Fresh video from the publisher gives an overview of three modes: Team Deathmatch mode offers your typical battle against other players as well as whatever else might be lurking in the infected streets – Biohazard Mode challenges players to recover samples of the G-Virus – and Survivors Mode has players fighting for a limited number of seats on the last helicopter flight out of the doomed city. These modes come in addition to Heroes Mode, which lets everyone play as fan favorite characters.
I’ve been cautiously optimistic about Operation Raccoon City, and remain quite comfortable on the fence given how often these franchise detours deliver something lackluster. But perhaps the fluidity of the action deserves some acknowledgement given the level of presentation and absence of criminally visible janky-ness in videos like the one you can catch below.
Regardless of how the playing goes, it does make for a pleasant visual spectacle.

Generally, when I come across a game starring a Cheerleader who slices through zombies to produce rainbows, narrative becomes less of a concern versus simply getting my mitts on the controller. But for those of you who may persist in asking for more explanations behind Lollipop Chainsaw’s high school zombie invasion, a fresh trailer for the upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title has arrived to fill in the blanks.
It turns out that Goth angst is at fault for disrupting the education system at San Romero High, with the resident “Goth Geek Bastard” Swan on a mission to take over the world, thereby giving our chainsaw wielding heroine plenty of zombies to tear apart.
Because lollipop humor never gets old, suck on the latest trailer below.
