Explodemon! Lives

Explodemon!
There was never any reason to believe otherwise, but to give you an idea of how long I’ve been waiting to hear more about this title from Curve Studios, well it was slightly before I’d heard of ‘Splosion Man, and over two writing gigs ago according to this long lost post.

At long last Curve says we can expect a PSN release before the end of 2010, whilst still boasting that their 2.5D action will return SNES flavored sensations within the agenda of self-destruction – so fingers crossed kids!

Catch some fresh art from the game after the break.

Every Dog Has Its Day

Solatorobo
Solarobo picked up a name adjustment along with a Japanese DS release date of October 28, 2010, under the name Solatorobo. CyberConnect2’s answer to my forgotten love of Tail Concerto also has a hefty collector’s edition box that brings together the always appreciated artbook and soundtrack cd.

Add to to this a bonus disc with either edition of the game and it seems a safe bet that the only way we’ll ever see these goodies in North America is if XSEED picks the title up.

Check out the game’s site for more details / images / dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria.

Lost in Shadow’s Release Date Materializes

Lost in Shadow
Hudson’s regionally title confusing shadow game is set for a North American release on January 4, 2011 – rather than any previous aspirations for taking on the Fall 2010 crowd – under the name Lost in Shadow.

Along with the announcement we get a peak at a new feature, Materialization, which sees some snazzy swords added to the mix, as well as the ability for our shadow protagonist to become a “creature of light” in order to manipulate physical objects.

Catch a glimpse for yourself after the break.

Your Pokémon Enigma (Stone)

Pokemon
The quest to keep my well worn Pokéwalker in my pocket continues, with news that HeartGold and SoulSilver Pokéfantatics can get their mitts on the Enigma Stone via wifi, and thus a chance to catch elusive Legendary Pokémon, Latias (SoulSilver) or Latios (HeartGold).

According to the fine print, the catch is that only players who have beaten the Elite Four, claimed the National Pokédex, and have two or fewer Wonder Cards can solve the riddle of the Enigma Stone in order to capture Latios or Latias.

So many Pokérules…

I haven’t seen an official news blurb on the Pokémon site yet, but word from the press release I’m looking at is that this opportunity starts on Saturday July 31st and continues through to Friday August 27th.

Metroid’s Tomb of the Unnecessarily Named Soldier

Metroid: Other M
Nintendo possibly attempts to alleviate concern about spilling generic space marines all over our Metroid with yet another trailer, which takes pains to name every single one of them – whether I remember any of these names a week after finishing the game remains to be seen.

No offense to Lyle Smithsonian, but unless your name is Samus Aran, I really don’t care what happens to you so watch your own damn back.

Meet and greet the squad after the break – let me know if it brings back memories of the first 20 minutes from any number of sci-fi / action / horror hybrid films.

Possibly Kicking A Dead Horse

Love Plus+
The girls of Love Plus + in 1/8th toy form, via Konami Style – now you can bring something a little more physical home to meet your parents.

That’s pretty much all I’ve got beyond mentioning that the girls appear to come with several different hairstyles to suit most any occasion.

A Little More Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey
Bits and bites of Epic Mickey are floating around this weekend thanks to Comic Con, including a peak at more of the 2D environments that look increasingly sweet enough to support a game sans the 3D painting focus.

As it turns out, the clip you can catch after the break offers up a taste of both styles, so see what you think – but I’d seriously pay to get it on with just a side-scrolling Mickey Mouse right now.

Amaterasu Can Kick Your Ass

Marvel vs. Capcom 3
This is barely going to register as a post, but I’ve been hoping that we’d get a look at Amaterasu in action before the weekend and small dreams do come true. Capcom’s offered up a Comic Con look at my favorite wolf kicking the crap out of The Hulk and Wolverine without breaking a sweat, and you can catch it after the break.

A Little More Aya Brea

The 3rd Birthday
While it isn’t quite the poster I’m still hoping for, I finally managed to get my mitts on the main visual for The 3rd Birthday in a resolution that doesn’t make my eyes bleed from squinting, which you can see a snippet of above.

If you agree that said image would make a great wallpaper change for the weekend, then you should definitely pay a visit to Square-Enix’s Japanese site for the game, over here.

Expressing Your Love in Public

Love Plus Arcade
I didn’t think the saga of Love Plus could get any stranger than carrying your girlfriend around on your DS, and in at least one case marrying it, so touche Konami on this apparent Love Plus Arcade sneak attack. Keep in mind what I don’t know about this deal at the moment could fill a warehouse – is this the speed dating edition? Is there a slot where you can give it gifts? Could I have more fun speculating all day long versus actually knowing? You bet!

I’m not sure how many readers here are in Japan and near enough to the upcoming location test, but if you’re into public displays of affection you can check out Konami’s page here.
