Well, getting a download code for Ys Seven would be the best way to make me finally buy a PSP since I would HAVE to get the portable to enjoy this fine, fine game.

I lurk around on this site from time to time and I just happened to happen upon this PSA. This is my first post here!

I’m somewhat familiar with the Ys series, though I’ve yet to play one of them. If I were to get this game, I’m hoping that it can bring me back into the days when action RPGs were whimsical yet rad journeys through crazy scenarios. I’ve been in need of something carefree with rock attitude, and Xseed’s excellent localization work so far definitely helps this out.

Now that I think about it, I should probably pick up Ys I & II on the Virtual Console. Thanks for the reminder!

I’ve never gotten to experience this series and it’s something I know little about, but I LOVE RPGs, especially handheld RPGs. I would be so pleased to play one that I don’t know anything about yet seeing as the story wouldn’t be ruined and I’d get a fresh introduction to a well loved series. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do that so I’d really appreciate the copy and put the full amount of time in to finish the game.

I need my faith restored in good old JRPGs. I loved Xenogears, but then played through the Xenosaga games. I’ve suffered long enough. Assuage my pain!

FFXII has ruint me. Are all GRPGs just a matter of smushing the same button for hours? Has my life been spent on smushing? I am ruint! Please restore my faith in JRPGs.

I could definitely use my faith renewed in RPGs. They’ve always been my favorite genre, and they’ve been too few and far between for my liking. I own more playstation games than PS2 games to this day. I’d happily play Grandia, beginning to end, over and over. Even though I’ve been happy with Altier Iris: Eternal Mana and Ar Tonelico, their sequals didn’t give me the same good driven feeling to play.
Just a couple weeks ago I was playing through Chrono Cross again, just because it was a game I could play again, and not experience the same way. The battle system allows every play through, even when you don’t change your characters and story decisions, to be different and fun. And it makes you think.
The last time I had a fun challenge in Final Fantasy was in X-2, in the optional battle, where the difficulty was high enough you had to think your way through your action, what’s best, how to attack, when to heal.
I spent four hours fighting one boss in the desert, simply because it was fun enough to do so.
I’d love to have my faith restored, to be shown that RPG can still be hours of fun, with a story that begs completion, characters that insist empathy, and battles that a two you old could happen their way through.

Lately I’ve found myself starting to loathe today’s games, especially RPGs that I’ve had a falling out with. However if there was one series that I absolutely loved it was the Ys series back then. Playing these games was an excellent formula of action-hack and slash RPG that was familiar but still a breath of fresh air.

I remember playing the Ys Book I and II on my TurboDuo, being blown away by the anime cut scenes and amazing score. Eventually I beat both books (try playing these games on hard or nightmare, whoo boy! Talk about an exciting challenge,especially against Dark Fact!)and those games memories will stay with me for the rest of my life. Later on I didn’t play a Ys game till Ark of Napishtim,another fine addition to the series with a rocking soundtrack and having all the characters, even NPCs with voice overs was a nice touch.

I recently just found out a few days ago on GT that Ys 7 actually existed and you wouldn’t believe my joy upon hearing the news. So if given the chance please allow me to go adventuring with Adol and Dogi once again. I want to love RPGs once more like I did when I was younger! Not to mention I would have no problem spreading the word on this awesome series!

I won’t lie. I only heard about Ys Seven yesterday when reading the review by RPGamer. However, that review was so stellar that it made me want the game really badly. I am a gamer at heart, and I absolutely LOVE my RPG games. I’m not sure why, I guess because they were the ones I first played when I was a little girl and it just kinda stuck with me.

Because of my love for RPGs I am ALWAYS looking for new ones to play. However as of late I have not really been able to find any that seem… worth the money that they cost? I’m hoping that Ys Seven will be that one RPG that is Epic. and will restore that faith that I once had in this genre.

I haven’t played a good commercial RPG in a good long while. I’ve also passed over many others due to being left behind in the console generations, but reviews everywhere seem to paint a grim picture for RPGs.

I however am a fan of Falcom’s works and Ys VI was the last game of their’s that I’ve played. Legacy of Ys’ Books I & II were…lackluster. I really need a good modern Ys game to bring me back into the swing of things.

My faith may need some restoring. I have incomplete files in Odin Sphere, Persona 3 and Tales of Vesperia and none are calling wildly to me to continue playing them. I’ve never played an Ys game but I’ve always been interested in checking them out. The trailer looked pretty dope, an action rpg style which I love so it’d be great to get a chance to try this one.

It would give me something to review on my own site, and I have been anticipating the Falcom titles published by XSeed since they announced their partnership!

For me to believe in RPGs again, I need sound of epic wailing guitars during bossfights. I need to save half a dozen of damsels in distress. I need simple yet deep gameplay. I need Ys Seven!

FF 13 was a disappointment, and I need a “REAL” jrpg experience, and I’m a fan of SavoryHate™ err… um I mean SavoryCade the biggest Ys fan I know of (this better not be another SavoryHype™)

Final Fantasy 13 has brainwashed me into believing that all new RPGs must be totally boring. Please, save me from my brainwashing so that I may extoll the virtues of Ys 7 to all! (I promise to do a review if I win.)

I’ve know the Ys series for a while, mainly as an spectator. I’ve heard the music, know the story, but I’ve yet to play the game. If i have the chance to play it, and I suspect I will love it, I pledge my support for XSEED and Falcom on all of their future american endeavors. Thank you guys for bringing the game to this side of the pond!

The JRPGs genre has begun crumbling because of all the artificial addendums like convoluted stories, and needlessly cumbersome battle systems. I want to get back to the good times, when RPGS were fun!

I’ve always had a soft spot for classic games. But I’ve had a hard time with recent jRPGs. Ys, nevertheless, has stood the test of time for me always and Ys Seven looks like the best of the series. I’m happy as it is with just the game making its way over here that winning this would be the cherry on top of this delicious cake.

PS: I swear I’ll review it if lady luck smiles at me.

After playing FFXIII, I need a game that will reassure me that all is not lost.

Please tell me all is not lost in the RPG genre.

Falcom? WTF is a Falcom? ;) I know… I’m late. I’m going to buy the Limited Edition anyhow.
