Akai Katana

Cave
If you enjoy teasing trailers where the camera slowly pans over still images of characters, well then Cave has you covered with the view for Akai Katana (Red Katana) so far.

Translated word that Cave’s newest shooter is set in a military world populated by retro mechs makes it likely that I’ll explode before getting a look at the actual game – though the game’s site suggests that bullet fans hanging in Japan can check out a location test from July 23rd – 26th.

Enter yet another day I resent being geographically challenged.

Oh boy… I’m quickly becoming a Cave fanboy. I never new what I was missing! I’ve been Shmuping it up this past week thanks to Deathsmiles. Been playing some Ikaruga & Raiden IV in addition to Deathsmiles. Tonight I’ll be rocking some Raiden Fighters Aces and maybe some of my Dreamcast (Last Hope Pink Bullets! Mars Matrix!) PS2 (Gradius V! R-Type ?!) Shmups this weekend! I am all excited for Guwange to come out on XBLA (as long as it is 800 MS Points) now too! Heck I might even purchase Triggerheart Exelica this weekend.

I support everything you just said, also DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu coming to iPhone. Some of my other dreamcast favs are Under Defeat, Zero Gunner 2, Borderdown, and the two Gigawings.

Back to the Deathsmiles reviewing I go!

Espgaluda II & DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu don’t run on my sad little iPhone 3G! :( Maybe by the time I upgrade to my iPhone 4.1 (i.e. when they fix the iPhone 4) they’ll both be in my App price range… ($0.99-$1.99 max! Heck if they drop to that before I upgrade I’ll grab them both even if I can’t play them yet.) Sadly out of all my Dreamcast games both U.S. and Japanese I don’t own any of those you mentioned! :( Yet somehow I own EVERY fighting game on both U.S. & Japanese systems! :P

Only own Gigawing 2 on Dreamcast but oh what a fun game that is.
