Additions to the DSi XL Rainbow

Meet Japan’s newest shades of Nintendo’s DSi XL (LL), which are set to release there on June 19, nicely situated as a consolation prize for wanting but left waiting for a fully revealed 3DS I suppose.

This color filled release will see the DSi recieve a price change in Japan of ¥15,000, down from ¥18,900, and the DSi XL (LL) to ¥18,000 from ¥20,000 – DS Lite pricing will apparently be open to change left up to retailers.

Just so you can all give me strange looks today, I’d almost rather have one of the special Love Plus+ edition handhelds that hit Japan on June 24.

    Wait, the DSi and the XL are getting price drops? Isn’t that pretty much confirmation that the 3DS will release around August-September in Japan and now they want to sell as much “DSi family” units as possible?

      Yeah, I like the yellow too. Has anyone played on the XLs before? How do the pixels look? I mean… seeing they’re bigger pixels does it effect the quality of the picture? (I assume the screen ratio is the same as a regular DS… or do they “stretch” the image?)

        Or green. Its sooo good summer colors! Ohh I see what you did there Nintendo! Nope I havent played on XL but this thing does looks big. I read most of the games will be better on XL, and with new games such as WarioWare and Jam with the Band out and fitting perfectly for XL I really want that big thing. But then again its too big for a portable system for me.
