Konami Means Business Today

Konami
Or at the very least they are very busy setting an agenda for releases this year, with screenshot updates for Castlevania Lord of Shadows and Ninety-Nine Nights II.

More over, we’ve got a new trailer for Sparkster’s return in Rocket Knight – which is slated and dated for May, and admittedly looks a lot better in this final trailer than the last time I saw video for the game.

Catch that and more, after the break.

From the category – things I didn’t expect today – comes the return of Rush’n Attack on PSN and XBLA this Fall, via the power of the unreal engine and some hard to ignore inspirations from Shadow Complex / Bionic Commando Rearmed. How so many people get trapped in a military complex is beyond me…

And if that weren’t enough from one company on a Friday, the buzz is out that Konami is working with an as-of-yet-unnamed studio to develop a next-gen (PS3, 360) Silent Hill. Admittedly this last bit leaves me skeptical and feeling that the critical love for Shattered Memories on the Wii won’t be enough to see another game in that vein – but anything is possible right?

The only fact we can be sure of is that the game won’t feature the music of Akira Yamaoka. With that in mind, I feel like posting the greatest piece of original videogame music ever created.

That reminds me of this one time I was driving back from Florida to Connecticut the Ex and I decided to spend the night in Virginia Beach but the directions that I got from MapQuest brought me straight to a Naval Military Base! I was greeted by two armed guards at the gatehouse and they laughed and said “What did you do? Get directions from MapQuest?” Haha!

You’ve sincerely blown my mind with how feasible it actually is to end up in a military complex O_o

Sparkster and Rusn N’ Attack, if done right( i.e. Bionic Commando Rearmed) could definitely help revive interest in said franchises.

Opinion on the Silent Hill game seems to point to a Silent Hill 2 remake since they’ve already remade part 1 in Shattered Dreams.
