There’s plenty of times I’ll say that details on a game have been a long time coming, but since I went back through the logs of another site to check, I can confirm that I’ve been waiting for details on CyberConnect2′s first DS title since May of last year.
My waiting owes entirely to my love for the very obscure PlayStation1 game Tail Concerto. And while Solarobo isn’t considered a sequel to that hidden gem, it seems to take an awful lot from it – a world of floating islands where humanoid dogs and cats live together and happen to have robots for instance.
Like Tail Concerto, Solarobo is a 3D game where players use objects and enemy projectiles as weapons rather than having any direct firing abilities of their own, and follows the exploits of a dog bounty hunter – an actual dog, not, well you know.
The game is only listed for Japan at present, where it’s due out by the end of the year. I’ll have to keep my fingers crossed because one never knows what to expect for North America when Namco-Bandai is involved.
Catch a small bit of art after the break.
