Clash of Heroes Coming to PSN / XBLA

Clash of Heroes
So here’s a second time today that I feel like apologizing for posting assets with IGN logos cluttering up the scenery. My love for Capy meets my loathing for IGN exclusives, but Clash of Heroes news must be spread to the far reaches of the Internet regardless of such issues – and it’s clear I’m not getting any better alternatives today.

You may remember Clash of Heroes as one of the best DS games of last year, a late entry that seduced press types into awarding it the title of “best game you didn’t play.”

Actually I know lots of people who are still playing it, but since more is always better, the game is headed to digital distribution across PSN and XBLA this year – which sounds like a port I know, but trust me long enough to check out the peak after the break, because the animation reworking at play here is worth an eye full and then some – and online multiplayer options earn a huge thumbs up as well.

Catch the trailer after the break, and watch for the actual good bits near the end after a zillion PR lines.

Parting thought, is it wrong that I think the game could lose the whole Might & Magic bit from the title during this move?

My brother just bought this last week so I guess I’ll skip the PS3 release since there is a big difference between $10 on PSN and free for me on DS.

It’s weird seeing the difference from cute little 2d pixel sprites to larger 2d cartoon sprites. They could call it Generic Fantasy Themed Clash of Heroes instead… :P But yeah… I guess the Might & Magic title is just there for marketing?

I guess, it’s just that I have zero interest in Might & Magic, and if I hadn’t been already familiar with Capy, I guarantee I would have passed on the title at first because of the Might & Magic bit, and I would have missed out on a really great game.
