Joanna Finally Has A Date

Perfect Dark
Though it took a painfully long time, or at least it feels that way, the restoration of Joanna Dark’s N64 mission finally has a date for XBLA – which is this March along with Game Room, Toy Soldiers, and Scrap Metal as part of something being called the Xbox Live Arcade Block Party.

Being that I’m not at X10, where all this info is spewing from, this all comes via Major Nelson.

Since they couldn’t do Goldeney, they went for Perfect Dark? So Nintendo gave their ok for this? I mean, the original WAS on Nintendo hardware and they published so they must have SOME say on this, right?

I’ll be honest with you, I’m not sure, depends on what rights Rare had/has and what the terms of sale were when Microsoft bought Nintendo’s share? I’ll ask the next time I get the chance.

@EdEN the rights to the game sold along with rare, the only games rare made that ninty still has right over are ones made for preexisting nintendo characters (diddy kong for example).
but, if you ever played the original, you should remember a lot of references to nintendo and it’s characters in the game, rare and MS were forced to take those out before re-release.

Goldeneye is more in development hell not because of Ninty holding back, but because of the movie rights connected to it.
