Atlus has announced a North American date for the PSP RPG Hexyz Force, developed by Sting, whom you may remember from one of 2009′s best and too quickly forgotten DS games, Knights in the Nightmare.

The game gives players a distinct two-sided narrative, offering the choice to play as a cleric named Cecilia, or the knight Levant. Piecing together what I recall hearing about the game when it released in Japan, players will form parties of warriors arranged in 3 x 3 battlefield formations with a turn-based attack system.

Sting’s releases have been increasingly hard to ignore, flaunting highly polished details, style, and what I’ll risk calling good ‘ol fresh thinking. Chances are good I’ll be keeping a close eye on this game when it hits on May 25.
